The holiday season is a special time at Tiburon Hills Care Center, and this year our team found a joyful way to bring everyone together with a weeklong Holiday Spirit Week celebration. Throughout the week, residents, nurses, and staff members embraced themed days that filled our halls with laughter, color, and festive cheer. Spirit Week created a fun environment and meaningful moments of connection, helping make the season feel warm and inclusive for everyone in our care community.

The week kicked off on Monday, December 15th with Ugly Sweater Day, and our residents and staff did not hold back. From oversized knits covered in jingle bells to delightfully mismatched holiday patterns, everyone showed off their most outrageously festive sweaters. The playful outfits sparked conversations, smiles, and friendly compliments throughout the day. The fun, festive sweaters filled the building with smiles and excitement, making Monday a joyful start to Spirit Week, but there was still so much more fun to be had through the rest of the week.
On Tuesday, we kept the party going with Merry & Bright Day. For this day, nurses and team members wore their most vibrant, colorful scrubs, while residents joined in by dressing in classic holiday colors like red, green, and gold. The energy in the building felt even brighter as bold colors blocked out the winter gray outside. Merry & Bright Day focused on positivity and warmth, helping all the team and residents create a cheerful environment for themselves, and causing a powerful impact on everyone’s mood and overall well-being.
Wednesday was magical, as the staff and residents transformed Tiburon Hills into a sparkling Winter Wonderland. Everyone was invited to wear white, silver, and light blue, along with winter-themed accessories such as snowflakes, scarves, and even ski gear if they wanted! The soft, cool color palette created a calm, festive atmosphere throughout the building. Residents enjoyed seeing the creative accessories, and the day’s elegant theme added variety to the week’s celebrations and offered a refreshing change of pace that residents and staff enjoyed together.
Thursday brought us some friendly competition with Red vs. Green Day. Staff and residents chose a team and dressed head to toe in their chosen color, proudly representing their side throughout the day. With our staff and residents fully decked out in festive red or glowing in holiday green, the playful competition brought with it laughter and camaraderie. Good-natured debates about which color best represented the holidays added an extra layer of fun, while really bringing us together.
The week wrapped up on Friday with Holiday Headwear Day, one of our favorites, and maybe the most entertaining day of all. Santa hats, elf ears, reindeer antlers, and other festive headpieces appeared throughout the building. Residents especially enjoyed seeing the creativity on display, and many joined in by trying on headwear themselves. The whimsical accessories made the day feel lighthearted and joyful, ending the week on a high note.
While our Holiday Spirit Week was a blast, it was also about more than dressing up. At Tiburon Hills care Center, we recognize the importance of building connections, raising spirits, and creating shared experiences that residents and staff can enjoy together. Moments like these help foster a sense of community and belonging, which is especially important during the holiday season. We are proud of our team for bringing such enthusiasm and creativity to the week, and grateful to our residents for participating with such wonderful holiday spirit while they continue to work on their recovery and healing. Weeks like this remind us all that joy, laughter, and togetherness are always worth celebrating.
